Getting ready

I cleaned up the kids room for the move. Now I need to do the rest. Hopefully I will manage everything. The packers are coming Saturday morning and also Monday the whole day and then our stuff will be in the container.
We still try to sell some stuff we do not need in Germany and we also put a big pile in front of our house with a free sign. Jörg just made a fire in our oven in order to burn some firewood.

Yesterday a guy was crashing in my van while I was standing in front of a traffic light. Our van is now at the body shop, but luckily we will get it back tomorrow afternoon. I went to the chiropractor for a treatment as my left side was hurting. There will be two more treatments before we hit the road. I just can't believe how much luck we have lately :-(. Some friends told us already that these are signs for us to stay here.

Our relocation lady is still looking for a house and schools will made a decision 7/6/09.
So everything is still the same.

Farewell Party

Today we had our Farewell party in a park with our friends. We BBQ burgers and there were salads and dessert for everyone. The kids had a blast as they plaid the whole time. It was really great to see our friends all at once. Unfortunately some of our friends were already on vacation.

We are still looking for a house and schools in Kassel and I must admit that I am getting nervous about that. I really like everything organized and under control. Hopefully we will find something pretty soon.

Yesterday we went to San Francisco and of course we were in China Town, one of our favourite places in the city. After spending a couple of hours there and a nice dinner we went home again.
Of course, we also had a fortune cookie each. In mine was:

Friends long absent are coming back to you.

How cool is that? I will keep it in my purse :-)

On Friday, we sold our last bearded dragon. I am sure, that both of them found a great home with a caring family. I am very relived, that everything went smoothly, because we have so many things to think about right now.
Noah, David and I got sick, so we did not ride our bikes over Golden Gate Bridge on Friday. We all have the flu and we are just hanging around the house.
The graduation ceremony on Thursday was great and very emotional for me. I will never forget how they walked in, the speaches, how they got the certificates and the party afterwards. David was very happy.

Sold our first beardy :(

Today we sold our first beardy. Hanna was so upset, she cried until she finelly felt asleep.

I think the whole day was very emotional for all of us. Jörg talked to his boss in Germany on the phone, Hanna lost her bearded dragon and I realized that tomorrow is the last day of school, plus the moving company already dropped off some moving boxes :-(

After searching again online for schools I am totally tired and will go to bed now.

Sleep tight, Christine

Last week of school

It is getting serious now. Last week of school and graduation day for my oldest son. I cannot believe that my baby is finishing 5th grade on Thursday.
There is still sooooooooo much to do until the moving company is coming and starts packing. I really need to get organized the next couple of days, but I always find something I need to do right away. Hmmm, it is probably because I do not want to move?????? I know, I will be fine in Germany, but still .....
My plan for this week is to get everything ready for the german list I want to sell to them. Probably the kids will make a garage sale this Saturday. Next week I want to get stared packing some boxes: my school books, all the craft stuff, clothes I really do not want the movers to pack :-) etc.
On Friday we will ride our bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge. I LOVE it.
Now, I really need to go back to work, Christine
